Name: Coy
Identification Number: 1283321
Age: 18
Sexuality: Bisexual
Gender: Female
Rank: Defect
Job: Surrogate Parent
Appearance: Coy has auburn hair. It's parted to the side so it always partially hides her right eye from view. Other than her bangs, her hair is only one length and snakes down to the middle of her back. It curls slightly at the ends. She has deep green eyes and long lashes that curl at the corners of her eye, making her almost look like a mythical fairy.
No no no no no, not just because of her facial features. She also has.. wings. Well, not real wings. But on her back are two wings forever marked into her skin, a slightly darker color than it's original golden color making the scientists believe it was a birth mark.
Coy also has pointy ears that stick out of her hair. She's a short height for a girl her age and has slightly smaller boobs than average, only measuring at an a cup. She wears a dress the same color of her eyes that flows down to her mid thigh, though it's ripped on one leg so it exposes the entirety of her left leg. She wears stretchy shorts underneath and nothing on her feet, so they're often sore and bleeding.
Personality: Coy is very shy and emotional. However, this also means she's kind. She's very easy to take advantage of and often is, since she can't say no. She's always trying to please others and hurts herself in the process. There's a grim look always plastered on her face that's almost heartbreaking. Her voice comes out as a whisper.
She's terrible with experiments. They make her afraid, which is why she fears the scientists. Even the nice ones make her cringe and start to break down. She's a terrible mess, which is why she's a defect. She finds children precious because they don't see the harm in where they live yet, and are completely pure. Until the scientists ruin them. She's very protective of the children she's forced to care for, so every time they take one away she cries.
History: "Please stop hiding like that," Carter begged. I sniffed and came out from behind the bed. His eyes were soft and he held out a hand for me to take. "Come on."
Carter was two years older than me, and I was five at the time.
"Everything's so scary," I said softly.
"I'll protect you from it." I believed him and I took his hand. He led me out to where we got our food.
"Promise me you always will." I said as we sat down to eat.
"Will what?"
"Protect me."
"Of course I will. Now eat."
He was always so kind to me. The only person who knew I existed. We grew up together. He made me so happy... He'd comfort me after every experiment I was put through. He even stood up for me and was tortured for it. I fell in love with him. But I was too shy to tell him.
"You're thirteen now, Coy. You need to learn to stand up for yourself and tell people how you really feel." Carter's voice was deeper now. He was maturing.
"How I... really feel?" I questioned, standing up. I was shaking.
"If you never tell anyone how you're feeling, they'll never know."
"Carter, I... I..." His eyes were watching me. I grew silent. "Nevermind. I'll tell you later."
"Alright, weirdo," He joked and ruffled my hair.
I never had a chance to tell him later. Tell him how I really felt.
"Coy, fourteen year olds don't do this. Come out." His voice was growing annoyed instead of patient. I came out and reached for his hand, but he didn't give it to me.
"I don't have time for this. I was going to go meet Novalee."
"Who?" I questioned.
"Nobody." He sounded defensive.
"I came early, Carter!" I heard a voice from outside. He turned to me.
"Another time, okay?" He told me. I stood there stunned.
"Carter!" The voice outside sounded impatient.
"Another time." He repeated, and left me.
He stopped talking to me. Stopped writing me notes. He only hung out with Novalee. I was all alone. Completely alone. Two years passed of being neglected by him.
I saw a girl with black hair clutching a note to her heart. Tears dripped down her cheeks. I walked over to her to ask what was wrong. I wanted to help her. I felt I needed to. But when I looked down...
Carter was dead.
"And next time.." A scientist was speaking to the girl. "Don't fall in love with a scientist."
I had been on my way to tell him I loved him.
